Saku is a Japanese single malt whisky. It is distilled, matured and bottled on the island of Aogashima, 200 miles south of Tokyo. Aogashima is formed of a volcano inside a volcano, which is still active. Water is a crucial part of the whisky distilling process and the small island is said to have water that ‘tastes like it blooms’ setting Saku apart from the competition.
